Regina Chain 525 HPE

Regina introduces the innovative and revolutionary High Performance Endurance (HPE) chain, which eliminates the frequent periodic lubrication that motorcyclists had to perform every 400 - 800 km.

Extensive laboratory and street tests have shown that the HPE chain has a useful life that is at least equivalent to and even greater than a traditional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. Specially coated sprockets are not required.

The hydrogen-free Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C) coating, currently considered the most advanced among DLC ​​(Diamond Like Carbon) coatings, is applied to the surface of the HPE chain bushings and rollers. The ta-C coating reduces energy dissipation and increases the efficiency of the secondary transmission, combining the very high hardness of the coated surface with a low coefficient of friction. Eliminating the need for frequent periodic cleaning and lubrication of the chain during use reduces both the cost of service, oils and sprays and minimises the impact on the environment.

The innovative ta-C coating development process and the intensive R&D were carried out entirely by Regina engineers at the Cernusco Lombardone (LC) plant in Italy.
